Apoll. 2, 14 p. 57, 32 [of vipers]; Pla., Symp. 180d [of the heavenly Aphrodite]; Eur., Phoen. 666; Philo, Op. M. 100, Leg. All. 1, 15, Mos. 2, 210; Tat. 8, 3 and Celsus 6, 42 [of Pallas Ath.]; Jo. Lydus, De Mens. 2, 11; oracle of Apollo: Theosophien §13 p. 169=Lactant., Inst. 1, 7, 1, also 4, 13, 2 [of God]; Philo, Ebr. 61 [of Sara].
